Enterprise Rent-A-Car
With a company as outstanding as ours, it’s easy to start getting ahead of yourself
If you’ve big plans for your future career, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is the perfect place to begin making them come alive. After all, we’ve big plans for your future career too – plans that include teaching you everything you need to know about running your own business. So, you’ll be just as outstanding as we are.
We do things differently
Just imagine the possibilities that come with joining a huge, internationally successful business with the type of personal, entrepreneurial approach which allows individuals to stand out. Our secret lies in the fact that we’re divided up into thousands of smaller, local businesses which you'll learn how to run yourself. So, in as little as two years you could be running your own business, recruiting your own teams, and receiving your share of the profits.
We started in the States in 1957 and are now the largest car rental company in North America. With a turnover of more than $12 billion and a rental and leasing fleet of over one million vehicles across some 7,600 locations worldwide, we employ 3,400 people in the UK and Ireland alone.
Training to help you get ahead
You’ll start as a Management Trainee, and after a classroom-based orientation session, you’ll start learning all the business skills you need to run the branch yourself. This gives you the chance to develop skills in all areas, from sales and marketing and operations to customer service and finance – giving you the kind of business knowledge you’d only usually get from an MBA.
Graduate opportunities and beyond
Within a year, you can complete your training. From there, an assistant manager role beckons. Here, you’ll also receive a percentage of the profits generated by your branch, which means your earnings will be directly related to your performance.
Throughout the programme, there’s a series of carefully monitored tests and evaluations, after which you’ll receive pay increases, rewards, and more opportunities for promotion. You’ll almost certainly be a branch manager within just two years of starting, and after that it’s up to you how fast you move up.
What makes the perfect management trainee?
We think ambition and vision are more important than degree subjects, and we don’t just recruit business graduates. That said, we’re not looking for management trainees with their heads permanently in the clouds. You’ll need to have clear goals in mind and be willing to work hard in order to quickly start achieving them.
